On the second day of the “Oceans & Seas Action Agenda” Workshop, organized by the COP31 Türkiye Presidency, important discussions on the future of our seas were held with the participation of Deputy Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Burak Demiralp.

As the TURMEPA Environment and Sustainability Team, we participated in the first day of the “Oceans & Seas Action Agenda” Workshop, organized by the COP31 Türkiye Presidency in Istanbul on 13–14 August, as part of the preparations for COP31, which will be hosted by Türkiye in Antalya.

We met with Hulusi Şahin, Governor of Antalya, and his wife, Ebru Şahin, Project Coordinator of the Antalya Blue Mediterranean Initiative, at the Governorship of Antalya.

As TURMEPA Antalya Branch, we took part in the Antalya Blue Mediterranean Initiative World Environment Day Event.

Today, we celebrate the 7th anniversary of the Zero Waste Blue journey we embarked on to protect our seas and water resources.

At the 1st Marmara Sustainable Environment Symposium, organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality, and Kocaeli University under the theme “One Sea, One Future: From Marmara to COP31,” various dimensions of environmental sustainability were discussed with contributions from leading experts in the field.
