TURKISH MARINE ENVIRONMENT PROTECTION ASSOCIATION/ TURMEPA

The Blue Breath Project, launched in collaboration between DenizTemiz Association / TURMEPA and Garanti BBVA, continues its mission to prevent marine pollution. The project includes surface waste collection activities in the Marmara Sea and educational programs across regional provinces to raise awareness about marine conservation.

In its fifth year, the Blue Breath Education Bus, which hosts various workshops where students develop projects to combat marine pollution, made its first stop in Ayvalık. The opening event of the education bus was held at SETUR Ayvalık Marina with the participation of students and teachers, supported by the Ayvalık Municipality.

With the TUI Junior Academy Türkiye project, implemented in collaboration between TURMEPA and the TUI Care Foundation, new Eco-Champions have joined us.

The “TURMEPA 30th Year” waste collection boat, launched with the support of AISIN Turkey by TURMEPA, has started service in Göcek.

Our Chairperson of the Board, Şadan Kaptanoğlu, visited Eyyüp Karahan, the Chairperson of the Board of the Turkish Environment Agency.

TURMEPA Chair of the Board, Şadan Kaptanoğlu, visited Dr. H. Abdullah Uçan, Director General of the General Directorate for the Protection of Natural Assets under the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change.

The umbrella organization of the Marine Environment Protection Associations (MEPAs), INTERMEPA – an international marine and environmental protection organization – elected its new leadership at the latest Executive Committee meeting.
