Collaboration Meeting in Antalya on the Road to COP31
We met with Hulusi Şahin, Governor of Antalya, and his wife, Ebru Şahin, Project Coordinator of the Antalya Blue Mediterranean Initiative, at the Governorship of Antalya.
During the meeting, attended by Semiha Öztürk, General Manager of DenizTemiz Association/TURMEPA, and Ziya Baykal, Chair of TURMEPA’s Antalya Branch, we discussed potential collaborations, joint projects, and initiatives for the protection of our seas in the lead-up to COP31, which will be hosted by Türkiye in Antalya.
We also shared information about the education and awareness-raising activities carried out for nearly 20 years by our Antalya Branch, TURMEPA’s first branch, which began operating in 2006. We exchanged views on strengthening these initiatives—implemented together with children, young people, volunteers, and local stakeholders—through new partnerships during the COP31 process and expanding their reach to wider audiences.
As TURMEPA, we will continue to develop collaborative initiatives to protect Türkiye’s seas and water resources on the road to COP31, building on our many years of strong field experience in Antalya.
